A core commitment of TypeTogether is to support the scripts covering most of the world’s languages. So far we cover 12 scripts because we have invested heavily in our script design partnerships.

We’ve made a landing page for each script which links to all the type families we’ve created for that script: Armenian, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Latin, etc. Since we are celebrating Arabic type this month, check out our Arabic families on its landing page — Adelle Sans Arabic, Athelas Arabic, AwanZaman, Bree Arabic, and Portada Arabic.

Azza Alameddine recently wrote an article and created a graphic showing the anatomy of Arabic type. Taking lessons from history and contrasting Arabic with the more well-known and settled Latin script’s terminology, Azza shows what terminology has (and should) take greater hold in the Arabic design and typographic world.

Our wonderful colleague and senior designer Azza Alameddine has expanded several of our TypeTogether families with Arabic counterparts.
