No Ceilings

March 2015

Twenty years ago Hillary Clinton, then-First Lady, declared that “women’s rights are human rights” during the UN Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing. However, is the world a better place for women and girls than it was in 1995? That is what No Ceilings is aiming to answer.

No Ceilings is a Clinton Foundation initiative led by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton create to inspire and advance the full participation of women and girls around the world. The objective of the program is to build a data-driven evaluation of the progress women and girls have made during the last twenty years and the challenges that remain to help chart the path forward to full participation in the 21st century.
As Tom Watson explaines in Forbes magazine “No Ceilings seeks to establish the civil, social and economic rights for girls and women as the top of the global development agenda – and to argue that those rights represent the biggest global cause of the post-MDG era” (Millennium Development Goals).
No Ceilings program has been presented in the form of a website and The Full Participation Report that comprises 850,000 data points, spanning more than 20 years, from over 190 countries. The information is presented through personal stories and an interactive and comprehensible map that is easy to download, use and share.
The entire website, including the map, has been set in Adelle, in headings, menus and texts.
