Alverata, Making The Met

February 2021

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is celebrating its 150th anniversary with an exquisite exhibition and the Alverata typeface on its website!

Making The Met 1870–2020 is the name of current exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, showing over 250 artworks and mapping the variability of the museum’s collection since its opening in 1870. The bright and well-thought exhibition concept presents an unusual yet pleasant mixture of objects from different historical eras.

The selection for the exhibition website of Gerard Unger’s Alverata, which combines historical influences from Romanesque capitals to Russian Constructivism or De Stijl, can hardly be accidental.

It is a pure pleasure to see Alverata in use in such an elegant and smart way — and in such good company!
