Playwrite wins ED-Awards gold

TypeTogether took home two awards from the European Design Awards, completing a sweep of international recognition.
We are delighted to announce that Playwrite, our type engine for handwriting education, won gold in the 2025 European Design Awards (ED-Awards) in the category of Original Typeface, Text. In addition, Playwrite won Best of Show in graphic applications, recognising the hard work and excellence our design team put into showcasing Playwrite and its abilities.
The award was accepted by Agyei Archer, our sales and client liason, who also gave a well-received talk at the European Design Festival on how TypeTogether’s decentralised structure works. The ED-Awards celebrate European design, embracing its regional distinctiveness as well as its common foundations. A complete list of the 2025 winners can be found on the ED-Awards website.
Playwrite is one of the products of our Primarium project, which conducted more than two years of research into how handwriting is taught in more than 40 countries around the world.
