function & legibility

This large and ambitious project comprises a volume of around 2000 pages printed on thin paper in excellent quality. The Danish design studio 2Krogh AS superbly engaged Karmina and Karmina Sans as two main typefaces throughout the Oxford Press annotated Bible in many different sizes and weights, fullfilling a variety of functions. Karmina is a serif font built to withstand the worst printing conditions and the cumulative result of its features grants the typeface outstanding legibility and economy. Karmina Sans beautifully accompanies its serif cousin contributing a humanistic feel to the piece by its calligraphic aestehtic.
