Playwrite wins D&AD Yellow Pencil

We’re delighted to announce that Playwrite, our groundbreaking type family for handwriting instruction, was chosen as the winner of a Yellow Pencil at the 2025 Design & Art Direction (D&AD) Awards. As it was the only type design to be awarded this year, we are immensely grateful for the recognition. TypeTogether co-founders Veronika Burian and José Scaglione were in London to collect the award and to deliver a talk at the fantastic D&AD Festival. Playwrite is one of the products of our Primarium project, which conducted more than two years of research into how handwriting is taught in more than 40 countries around the world. Playwrite is available as a free download at the Google Fonts website.
