New release: Futura®100

We have a huge announcement today that has been years in the making. In partnership with Bauer Types, TypeTogether has brought together the widest global talents to release Futura®100, the epitome of minimalist geometric typefaces for the world. We are proud to introduce the first half of the full multiscript family!

Futura®100 is currently comprised of 12 scripts, each with six upright styles and matching obliques (as applicable), variable fonts, and an optical size option that increases spacing and adapts vertical proportions to improve readability in text sizes. Current scripts include: Armenian, Cyrillic, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Khmer, Lao, Latin, PanAfrican Latin, Thai (these ten with obliques), Arabic, and Myanmar. In 2026 we will release 11 additional scripts which will include support for major Indic scripts as well as Simplified Chinese and Hangeul, covering more than 90% of the world’s population in total. With such extensive coverage, Futura®100 is a great fit for agencies and brands with global reach, multinational commitments, or for those who have used the Latin version in the past but would benefit from using it in their own script.

Our team has been diligently working to bring this family to as much of the global design community as possible while honouring Renner’s intention. So after two years of first-hand archival research, design, and testing, Futura®100 is the initial interpretation of his original idea worldwide, rather than a remake limited by specific region or purpose. All the desired typographic niceties are included: case-sensitive punctuation, small caps, five sets of figures for setting tables or text, geometric alternates, arrows, ligatures, script-specific alternates, and more.
