Playwrite and Ploquine win TDC award

We are delighted to announce that Playwrite, our type family and type engine for handwriting instruction, has been selected as the winner of the 2025 Type Directors Club  award. A complete list of the 2025 winners can be found on the TDC website.

Playwrite is one of the products of our Primarium project, which conducted more than two years of research into how handwriting is taught in more than 40 countries around the world.Each regional font in the Playwrite family is available as a free download at the Google Fonts website.

Not only that, but Emma Marichal’s Ploquine was also selected for a TDC award. Designed from wood types for editorial use, Ploquine can be aggressive or delicate. Its 14 well-balanced styles are suitable for paragraphs where its details improve the overall text colour, and they become a distinctive branding feature when set at large sizes.
