Futura®100: Technical proficiencies

November 2025

As with all TypeTogether typefaces, Futura®100 is packed with everything designers need. Our font families always go through rigorous testing and QA to ensure the highest standards and widest use, from screens and substrates to motion and OEM needs. Here’s a closer look at this technical beast and how to get exactly what’s needed.

Typefaces are complex pieces of software that have to work well and look good everywhere. Fortunately, Futura®100 now looks great the world over with its 12 global scripts. But how full is its character set and what formats does it come in? How can it be used to its fullest extent? We’ve got the rundown here.

TONS OF CHARACTER(S)

It takes significant time and effort to design a font family, so most typefaces only support European languages. Comparatively, TypeTogether’s Futura®100 Latin comes packed with more than 1,200 glyphs (1600 in its PanAfrican version) to cover nearly every Latin-based language in the world, and includes alternate characters, several sets of numerals, and symbols and ornaments.

If available, global scripts include their native default numerals and regional alternates, such as Persian numerals in Futura®100 Arabic. Each script also has alternate regional characters: Bulgarian and Serbian in Cyrillic, Yiddish and Dagesh in Hebrew, or Pashto and Persian in Arabic. Small caps and italics are included as appropriate, and some cultural iconography is included, such as the Armenian eternity sign. To top it off, all script-specific fonts include its full Latin counterpart for perfect brand harmonisation across writing systems and audiences.

FORMATTED TO FIT YOUR SCREEN

The design scene has settled on several standard font formats, and TypeTogether supports them all. Whether webfonts, OpenType, or TrueType formats are needed, or cutting edge variable fonts are the choice, the dowloaded font files have it. Use OpenType and TrueType in documents, webfonts for serving your text on the internet, and variable fonts to have ultimate style control in the smallest file size.

UNWRAPPING THE BUNDLES

Futura®100 bundles provide significant cost savings for brands and studios operating in multiple markets. Bundled fonts are a great advantage for teams that operate in multiple scripts and want to avoid risk by different teams using different versions of localized fonts.

Futura®100 has solo and bundle options aplenty. First, single font styles come with all the bells and whistles, font files, licensing, PDF specimens, and more. Second, full font families are the complete package of static fonts bundled with variable font files for use everywhere. Third, we’ve also created region-specific bundles for agencies and companies with global reach and ambitions. Note that all script-specific families come bundled with their Latin counterparts, so there is technically no Latin region.

1. Regional RIBI (for agencies and corporations): Region-specific limited-weight bundles of only regular and bold weights (with corresponding italics for writing systems that use them). These are available through direct contact to our sales team.

2. Regional full families: Region-specific full families bundled together as single fonts (so, there’s a single font for the European region, for example). These are available through direct contact to our sales team.
