Combining of typefaces is not an easy task. To facilitate this endeavour we will be publishing a series of successful type-combinations from our type boutique. Tablet Gothic and Abril Text is the first pair in this series of typographic couples.

Spanish publishing house Tipo-e has released a new book about type design. The three authors, Cristóbal Henestrosa, Laura Meseguer and José Scaglione, share their personal insights, methods and practical knowledge about making, post-producing and selling typography. The newspaper type family Abril was selected to be part of the Bienále Brno and the 2012 edition of the Tipos Latinos competition. Abril was conceived specifically for intensive editorial use, whether it is in newspapers, magazines or digital media. It has 12 titling fonts and 8 text fonts. The Core Text package (regular, italic, bold and bold italic) were manually hinted to guarantee consistent performance in the increasingly frequent publications that are released in different kinds of media.

Google comissioned the design of a new type family for it's webfonts project. Jockey is based on the lettering by an unknown Argentine artist who designed posters for horse race tracks in the 1930's. Read more.
