Playwrite wins it all!

With last week’s gold in the 2025 European Design Awards, our Playwrite type engine for handwriting education has won an impressive string of major international typography and design awards: Premios CLAP, the TDC award, gold at Joseph Binder, gold at ED-Awards, and the yellow pencil — the highest award and the only type design to be awarded this year — from Design & Art Director (D&AD) awards.

Playwrite is not just a font family, but a typeface engine that allows the creation and customisation of primary school fonts for every Latin-based country in the world. The fonts are one result of TypeTogether’s ongoing three-year research project, Primarium, which studies global handwriting instruction methodologies. Playwrite is available as a free download at the Google Fonts website.
