2025 Scholarship results
The annual Gerard Unger Scholarship helps promising typeface design students develop their careers immediately. TypeTogether’s aim is to enable exceptional projects started during a course of study to be finalised and published commercially as soon as possible after the end of their course. This year 49 submissions with 9 different scripts flowed in from all over the world prior to the deadline.
TypeTogether is happy to announce the 2025 Gerard Unger Scholarship winner: the Newz font family by French native Manau Quellec from the EsadType post-diploma programme. “Newz is a powerhouse editorial type family that demonstrates strong potential both conceptually and in its quality of execution and craftsmanship,” said Veronika. This full-range family will easily produce modern magazines, trending weeklies, statement look books, annual reports, posters, and many other publications.
