Literata

We are pleased to present our latest custom project, Literata, a new tailored type family for the Google Play Books e-Reader App. Literata, inspired by both Scotch and old-style Roman types designed for the digital eBook environment, creates an organic texture that helps to deliver very good results for ease of reading and comfort.
The typeface includes two weights and matching italics with PanEuropean language support; Greek designed by Irene Vlachou and Cyrillic designed by Vera Evstafieva with external consultancy by Gerry Leonidas and Kiril Zlatkov respectively.

FREEBIES
5 friends, 4 days, 1 font

TypeTogether organised a working get-together of the core design team; learning more about the different parts of the font making and publishing process, having fun and doing type design from the very conceptual stage to the final upload to our web store. The Ahoj typeface is the result of this four-day workshop at "Galerie Vernon" in Prague.
Ahoj can be downloaded and used for free. If you like it though, we encourage you to make a donation to one of the three charities listed in this page to help the victims of the earthquake in Nepal. To get things started, here is the receipt for our own contribution to one of them.

EDUCATION
Second Typeface Publishing Incentive Program Result

We are delighted to announce the result of the second ‘TypeTogether Publishing Incentive Programme’. The project that most impressed our selection team was Noort, an ‘in-progress’ typeface by Juan Bruce — currently an MATD student at the University of Reading. The original inspiration for Noort came from cartographic maps of the 17th century. Juan has been developing his typeface for editorial use, with a range of optical sizes to provide better performance in small text sizes. A generous x-height, long serifs, peculiar terminals and a rough-style italic are all part of Noort's charm. Juan’s intention is to support several languages, including Latin, Cyrillic, Greek and Bengali.

SNEAK PEEK
Lisbeth

We are thrilled to present a preview of Lisbeth, by German designer Louisa-Helen Fröhlich. Lisbeth is an all-italic, all-dynamic typeface family with a friendly voice, focusing on magazines and branding; there will be five weights for text, from thin to bold, and a quirky display with a twisted stroke, making the letters dance a little on the page.

Adelle and Adelle Sans in Móvil

Móvil is a nonprofit-gallery, based in Buenos Aires; the project was launched 2014 to provide a space for dialogue and reflexion. Adelle and Adelle Sans were used to form a powerful combination in Móvil’s flyers, graphic material and website. Both of these versatile typefaces are used in large sizes and with vivid colours, resulting in a very effective mix. Graphic design by César Sesio, photography by Santiango Porter.

FunTogether

Take a look at our latest video, ‘FunTogether’, which is a collaboration between ourselves, the Swiss-based studio Wemakebrands and the industrial photographer Ksawery Jan Oroczko. We think that the result is a charming little story inspired by type and the music, where letters become main players.
