SNEAK PREVIEW
Iskra, by Tom Grace

Iskra (spark or flash) is a new daring sans serif typeface by talented designer Tom Grace, who has already published two interesting typefaces with TypeTogether, the blackletter Givry and Alizé, a chancery italic.
Iskra, containing several width and weight variations, was conceived to challenge the limits between utilitarian and decorative. Sporting a low-contrast profile, it is a study of bridled energy in the Cyrillic and Latin scripts, and an oblique tribute to the less-predictable style of brush lettering. The first 14 styles will be available at the end of summer.

TYPE IN USE
An editorial typographic pair

The renowned studio Cases i Associats selected Abril and Tablet Gothic for the redesign of local newspaper "The Bucks Herald". The carefully crafted design takes advantage of the versatility provided by these two families. In the main news section Abril Display is used for headlines and Abril Text for body copy. Tablet Gothic functions as a multi-purpose font in footnotes, highlights and titles of different sizes. In other sections Tablet Gothic takes on the role of a titling face with incredible presence on the page.

CUSTOM TYPE
LEVI's

As part of our typographic service, we have been commissioned by design agency Wieden + Kennedy to create a custom stencil typeface based on an existing Bodoni version, kindly granted by Paratype. The resulting typeface includes Latin, Cyrillic and Greek and is being used for the global advertising campaign of LEVI'S this summer 2012. The Greek was almost entirely drawn from scratch and several features of the original were modified, such as overall contrast, shape of serifs and some actual letterforms. The position of the stencil cuts follows a natural logic creating a subtle and elegant impression.

Adelle Cyrillic

Due to popular demand and our continuous effort to broaden language support, we have been working on a Cyrillic extension for our award-winning typeface Adelle. As its Latin sister, Adelle Cyrillic is intended for multi-purpose editorial use, providing robustness and personality. To guarantee consistency throughout the two scripts they also share proportions, colour and general features without stepping beyond typographic acceptance. Alexandra Korolkova was a great help in finding the right tone and fine-tune subtleties of shapes. All 14 styles will be available later in the summer.
