Gerard Unger Scholarship 2019

November 2018

We are very pleased to announce the 5th edition of TypeTogether’s Typeface Publishing Incentive Programme, now renamed Gerard Unger Scholarship, open to any current or graduated student who has developed a typeface in a type design course within the past two years (2018–2020).

The winning student will be given guidance and support in developing their career after graduation through critique, expert feedback, economic support, and a publishing contract with TypeTogether. This is our fifth instalment, following Bely (designed by Roxane Gataud, published in 2016, awarded with a TDC award), Noort (designed by Juan Bruce, released in 2017, awarded with a TDC award), Temeraire (designed by Quentin Schmerber, published in 2018), and Lanka (designed by Bogidar Mascareñas, a work in progress).

In 2018 we took a gap year to better serve our ongoing projects and newcomers. Therefore, in addition to current students, we invite those from the previous academic year to apply. We are looking forward to receive all the new submissions that will surprise and amaze us!

You can find out more information about eligibility, how to apply, and key dates here — additional information is also available by emailing incentive[at]type-together.com.
