ATypI, Association Typographique Internationale, has announced its second type design competition, Letter.2. A jury of renowned professionals will make a selection of the typefaces from the last ten years that represent excellence in type design.
TypeTogether is involved in the organisation of this event and its visual identity. We have designed the logotype and adapted our typeface Crete to give letter.2 a unique visual display. The serif and terminal structure has been optimised and contrast reduced to deliver a more contemporary and functional appearance. Additionally, the rounding of corners give the typeface an overall warmer feel. These special two new styles also proved to be surprisingly efficient for web use. For the time being, TypeTogether is making it available exclusively through our webfonts partners. Submission opens in April 2011. Find out more about the competition here.
