Sneak peek ::::
Sirba is a contemporary and friendly low-contrast serif typeface, designed for use in small typesizes and large amounts of text. Its open counters, large x-height, short extenders and a variety of OpenType features, suggest applications with complex text structures such as in dictionaries, academic books, bibles and theatre plays.
Handwriting is the natural basis for Sirba's italic. It is a true italic in the sense that it maintains its own distinctive character by being lighter in colour, narrower and using alternate letters. Therefore it shows good contrast to the Regular within text settings.
As for now, the family includes four weights, regular, italic, semibold and black, supporting over 40 languages that use the latin extended alphabet. The design also handles Opentype features such as small caps, discretionary ligatures, fractions, a complete range of numerals for every use, case-sensitive characters, stylistic alternatives and a system of numbers and arrows.
Designed by Nicolien Van der Keur
Preliminary release date of the latin version of Sirba is end of 2008. |
